Puppet Show!
Many of our students have been enjoying playing with hand puppets and taking turns performing in a puppet show for their friends. We supported this interest and at the same time fostered the children's creativity by encouraging them to create their own hand puppets. Not only were these activities fun for the Kinders but it allowed them to practice turn taking while performing in their puppet show and to use one's imagination when creating a story line to act out! Bravo!

Light Table!
Our class is excited to have our very own new light table. Our Kinders enjoyed exploring different coloured paddles and discovered how overlapping various coloured paddles could create new colours. A new hands on activity to learn about mixing colours! What fun!
Our Planet Display
Our students continue to show interest in learning about our fascinating Solar System. We decided to show others what our class was working on by creating an informative and eye catching display which exhibits not only the beautifully created Planets by our Kinders but also some amazing facts that we have been learning about each Planet. Great job Kinders!

Library Day
Yesterday, the children had the opportunity to visit the school library. Mrs. S talked about taking care of books and read the children a story. The children will be visiting the library every second Monday. Please return your child's book in his/her library bag on Monday, November 25th. Happy reading!
Space Inquiry
Space has invaded our classroom! The children have been busy discovering many interesting details about the planets in our solar system. They have created their own pages for our classroom inquiry book about what they have learned through space videos and space books. G. Made a replica of Saturn using playdoh. On Monday, the children had the opportunity to hunt around the classroom to find all of the planets names and write them down. They looked very official carrying the clip boards around the classroom.

Technology in the classroom
The children in our classroom have many opportunities to explore technology. They explore various educational programs on the I-Pads. The SmartBoard is another tool used to learn math and language concepts as well as various other subject areas. The children delight in having their name written on the SmartBoard. The child's name is made into a cheer where individual letters are pointed out. We look for letters that are the same, we count the letters and we point out other friends in the classroom who begin with the same letter. This is a fun way to learn our letters! We also explore the sound that the letters make and find other words that begin with the same sound.
We love to build!
In Kindergarten, we use various types of building materials to develop our creativity. From simple shapes, to towers, to cool vehicles, the children are exploring how to design a concept and use the necessary materials to have their creations come to life. We might have some futur engineers in our class!
